Dr. Ming-Che Shih, a Distinguished Research Fellow at the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center, along with his team, has recently developed a comprehensive reference genome and genetic map of the orchid Phalaenopsis aphrodite. This work offers valuable new perspectives on the genome structure of orchids and will be an essential resource for orchid breeding, conservation of orchid species, and comparative genomic research. The study was published in the Plant Biotechnology Journal on April 28.
